Biocorp, a French company specializing in the development and manufacture of medical devices and injectable drug delivery systems, announces the issuance of convertible bonds under a contract signed on December 30, 2022 with three funds managed by management company Vatel Capital. This issue allows Biocorp to strengthen its available liquidity by 2.5 million euros and thus finance the development of new connected medical devices and the commercialization of the devices in new countries.
Dassault Aviation
Dassault Aviation topped the SBF 120 Index in 2022 with a gain of 66.53%. In addition to the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on military budgets, the aircraft manufacturer has benefited from the successful export of Rafale. Greece signed a contract in March for the acquisition of another six new Rafales, which will add to the 18 already ordered. In April, Dassault Aviation received the first tranche of the contract for the UAE’s acquisition of 80 Rafales.
Dezer
Deezer announces a change in chairmanship of its board of directors on Monday. Guillaume d’Hauteville resigned as Chairman of the Board of Directors on December 31, 2022 and Iris Knobloch was appointed Chairman of the Board, effective January 1, 2023. As a result of this change, Guillaume d’Hauteville was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position previously held by Iris Knobloch.
Orpeia
Orpea recorded by far the largest decline in the SBF 120 index in 2022, having seen more than 90% of its capitalization go up in smoke. It all started with the publication in January and the publication of the book “Les gravediggers”, a book that tells about serious dysfunctions in the care of residents. The situation was then only Charybdis in Scylla for the addiction treatment specialist: allegations of embezzlement by former executives, dysfunctional management practices, opening of a conciliation procedure… Strangled by its debts, Orpea is currently engaged in a financial restructuring, which will be massively dilutive to existing shareholders.
Teleperformance
Teleperformance ended the year as a laggard of the CAC 40 index down 43.19%. The outsourced services client relationship specialist initially suffered from its status as a rising stock in an environment of rising long rates. Teleperformance stock experienced a black session on Thursday, December 10, shedding more than 30% before being suspended. He suffered from a Time article denouncing violations of union rights, traumatic working conditions and low wages in Colombia. Teleperformance has been transparent and has moved away from the more offensive segment of its content moderation business.
Thales
Thales ended the year as the strongest mover in the CAC 40 index, with a gain of 59.49%, clearly outpacing its challenger, TotalEnergies. The supplier of aerospace, defense and security equipment has seen its stock market fate shaken by the conflict in Ukraine. This war of conquest, the first in Europe after the Second World War, and of great intensity, has highlighted the need to greatly increase defense spending. Not only are the armaments expended during this Russian-Ukrainian confrontation important/high, they are much more than expected.
Valneva
Valneva announced the publication of new data from a small exploratory study on the use of its inactivated COVID-19 vaccine, VLA2001, as a heterologous booster. In this study, “a booster dose with VLA2001 generated only a marginal increase in neutralizing antibody response,” the biotech company said.
