For several hours, Camille Vasquez, one of Johnny Depp’s lawyers, tried to portray the 36-year-old actress as the instigator of many debates with her ex-husband and often the first time she hit.

“I have never attacked Mr. Depp or anyone with whom I had a romantic relationship,” Amber Heard confidently replied in court in Fairfax, Virginia, near Washington.

“Many times I had to use my body to defend myself, and that included punching where I could if he let me go,” she explained, “if it meant a swollen face and not a ‘broken nose.’ , she continued.

She denied being “the first to hit”.

In an audio recording at the center of the process on Tuesday, she admits to having “slapped” her during a debate in March 2015 in Australia, where Johnny Depp was filming part 5 of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” saga and calls he is a “child”.

In this recorded conversation, the actor claims he had to take refuge in a bathroom in the face of his wife’s anger.

In another tense exchange on Tuesday, Amber Heard also had to fight for the sequence of events during a particularly traumatic episode of their stay in Australia, when Johnny Depp, under the influence of drugs, allegedly raped her with a bottle of alcohol.

Amber Heard claims the actor would have cut off his fingertip by breaking a phone before attacking him, a version the lawyer questioned given the seriousness of the injury.

The actress also admitted that she had not made a medical certificate or consulted a doctor after the alleged brutal attack.

Camille Vasquez also underlined a sentence by Amber Heard in the couple shared diary: “I’m sorry I ever go crazy.”

In other audio recordings, Johnny Depp criticizes her for humiliating her in front of her son by yelling at him for pouring wine on him, and she calls her husband a “doll” laughing.

Johnny Depp accuses his ex-wife of ruining his reputation and career by claiming in a column published in 2018 by the Washington Post that she had suffered domestic violence two years ago, without however mentioning his name.

He is seeking $ 50 million in damages. She has counterattacked and demands double.

At the top, the “Aquaman” actress explained why, according to her, Johnny Depp has refused to meet her gaze since the start of the trial. “That’s because he’s guilty,” she said. “He knows he’s lying.”

The 58-year-old actor, who testified in late April, admitted to using a lot of drugs and alcohol, but denied ever raising his hand against Amber Heard and insisted it was what was violent.

Amber Heard also denounced a “slander campaign” by Johnny Depp’s lawyers when Camille Vasquez filed domestic violence charges filed by her ex-partner, American artist Tasya Van Ree in 2009.

The actress explained on Monday that she had decided to divorce in May 2016, as she feared for her life, after another debate during which the actor allegedly threw a phone in her face.

The first four weeks of the trial drew a “very toxic relationship” between the couple, against the backdrop of Johnny Depp’s drug and alcohol consumption, and revealed very crude details.

The two actors had started a relationship in October 2011 before getting married in February 2015. Divorce was announced in early 2017.

The deliberations will continue until May 27, after which the seven members of the jury will withdraw to discuss.

Johnny Depp has sued his ex-wife in the United States two years after losing the first defamation lawsuit in London against British tabloid The Sun, who called him a “violent man”.
