AWARDS – Le Figaro Étudiant unveils its first bachelor rankings in three years and BBA in four years. ESCP and Essec are in first place.
For the first time the Figaro Student reveals its ranking of bachelors and BBAs from business schools. For this unprecedented ranking, the editorial staff took certified data from the CEFDG (Commission for the Evaluation of Management Training and Diplomas) and data from Parcoursup. The criteria of academic excellence (selection, degree of licensure, international accreditations), but also the alternation part and outlets.
ESCP ranked top bachelor in three years
It is no coincidence that of the 43 bachelors targeted by the state in three years, it is the ESCP who is in the lead. “The particularity of the ESCP bachelor’s degree is that it also offers a license issued by the German state, for students who go to Berlin for a year (they can spend a year in three European cities, ed)”, rejoices Léon Laulusa, Deputy CEO of ESCP. For openings, if the graduates are not destined to join the Grande Ecole program, “They manage to integrate large institutions, last year two joined Columbia and two joined MIT, while usually they prefer to take a BBA in four years”Adds.
TBS Education bachelor comes in second. With its establishment on its Paris campus at the start of the next academic year and its new location in Barcelona, the program is undergoing a makeover. Like Grenoble EM, which rises to third place, the program attracts many foreign students. Instruction in English and professionalization remain the main assets of business school bachelors.
Essec on the first step of the BBA podium
While bachelors generally last three years, there are also bachelors that extend over four years. BBAs derive from the Anglo-Saxon model and allow students to have a more internationally oriented education. The nine ranked courses all deliver their BBA in English. With one year of study in addition to a classic three-year degree, students acquire 240 ECTS credits, and graduate with a bac+4.
With a score of 20/20, the Essec BBA comes in first place on this unprecedented list. With its bachelor’s degree, ie the maximum duration, its international qualifications and a third of the graduates who have obtained the mention “very good” among their incoming students, the Cergy-Pontoise school strikes hard. Another interesting quality for future candidates: the BBA is given in France but also in Singapore and Rabat (Morocco). The program can also be attended full-time or alternating work-study starting from the third year, which concerns almost 11% of students. For the school there is no fault.
Inseec is still waiting for the license grade
Edhec’s BBA is in second place with an overall score of 18.6/20. In total, 36% of applicants are admitted, a higher rate than ESSEC (11%). Immediately behind, the BBA of Neoma dispensed in Paris, Reims and Rouen also accumulates good points. EM Lyon and Kedge then go head-to-head and complete the top 5 of this list. The marks of 17.5 and 17.4/20 of the BBAs of Excelia and Skema allow them to occupy the sixth and seventh place. That of South Champagne BS gets the score of 16.7/20. The training has yet to gain international accreditation to progress. As for the Inseec BBA, the school will need to await the licentiate grade to progress in this ranking.
