After the failure of the negotiations regarding the savings foreseen on their tariffs in the Social Report 2023, the biologists have called on Monday evening a renewable strike of all the laboratories starting from next Monday, November 14th.
If you have an appointment scheduled for next week for a scan, be careful. Most medical biology labs will close their tents on Monday, November 14th. After the failure of the negotiations on the savings foreseen by the 2023 Social Security budget, the biologists have called the strike of all the laboratories.
But the escalation continued throughout the week. This Saturday the workshops are talking about “unlimited strike” from the beginning of next week. The movement should last at least three days, involving both large groups (Cerba, Eurofins, Biogroup) and independent biologists. It is also supported by eleven organizations grouped within the health liberals, as well as by UFML doctors.
In reaction, in a press releasehealth insurance expressed its “deep regret” after this announcement.
Received last Monday at the headquarters of the National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam) to negotiate the aircraft announced by the state of their means next year, four unions of the Medical Biology Alliance (ABM), representing liberal biologists, “have hit a wall, “according to AFP.
“Madness of austerity”
In a statement released Tuesday, the ABM even announced an “austerity madness” and a stronger and longer-lasting economy for the sector than initially envisaged in the 2023 Social Security budget.
Yesterday @Assur_Maladie he refused to negotiate and is now charging us a plane worth over € 1 billion in 4 years! Against this bio-choking project, we respond to the appeal #to hit launched by our unions since 14/11.@Gabriele Attal @FrcsBraun take your responsibilities! pic.twitter.com/juCZyUilNT

Instead of a reduction of 180 million euros originally announced for next year, the government expects a reduction of 1.276 billion euros over four years. In detail, according to the ABM, health insurance would like to save “280 million euros in 2023, 332 million in 2024, 332 million in 2025 and 332 million in 2026”.
A fight that started a month ago
After Article 49 paragraph 3 has been used several times of the Constitution to have the different parts of the bill on financing social security adopted, the government had to manage the anger of biologists in mid-October. Dissatisfied with the lack of dialogue with the state on this issue, the latter did so SI-DEP data transmission suspended in government from Thursday 27 October to Wednesday 2 November.
An ad deemed “unacceptable” on Information about France by Gabriel Attal, Minister of Public Accounts, assuring that the results of the Covid-19 detection tests “have allowed us to increase our turnover by 7 billion euros”. For his part, the Minister of Health, François Braun, considered this boycott “inconsistent and inadmissible”, accusing the laboratories of “taking the entire population hostage”.
In response, the Inovie group, part of the ABM, evoked “pure demagogy” from the minister on Twitter, indicating that it was the “medical biology laboratories that asked the government to reduce the costs of testing at that time”.
Additionally, it was medical biology labs that asked the government to reduce the cost of testing at that time. Whatever it takes is the sole responsibility of the government. https://t.co/uCnBTewS3g
