Amazon has partnered with Netatmo and the Hello Watt app to allow you to monitor energy consumption on its Echo Show devices, but also to control your budget and even save money.
Save energy and bills. It has become a pursuit for many this winter. There are solutions among the connected objects to manage the home thermostat, program the lighting and limit unnecessary consumption. But not everyone knows how to equip themselves properly or how to follow.
With its versatile voice assistant and smart screen devices it’s looking to install in homes, Amazon had the idea of thinking about a combination of the two to offer monitoring of a household’s electricity and gas consumption, based on data available to each user. Like services offered by energy providers like Enedis, Echo Show devices will allow you to monitor your daily billing.
Know the devices that consume the most in real time
For this, the e-commerce giant has partnered with the young French company Hello Watt to create an option that will be displayed on its smart screens (Echo Show 5, 8, 10 or 15). This will allow you to know its hourly consumption (if you have activated it with Enedis), the monthly balance and the most energy-intensive uses within the family. Hello Watt, like Amazon, on the other hand, displays electricity consumption on G+1 and gas on G+2, awaiting refinement shortly.
To use them for free, you need to have Linky (electricity) and/or Gazpar (gas) meters which provide remote readings in real time. Once everything is installed and configured with your information (meter number), associated Alexa and Hello Watt accounts, the data is displayed on the screen.
It is also possible to ask the voice assistant for your consumption in kWh, in euros or in CO2 emissions, give the breakdown of the bill by use (appliances, heating, hot water, lighting, etc.) and obtain the analysis by hour, day, week or month.
Hello Watt also provides advice and savings solutions based on the information provided about the house (surface area, type of heating, co-ownership, etc.). You can go from installing a thermodynamic water heater to changing habits (washing at 30 or 40°, unplugging unused appliances, etc.). Experts are even available for discussion and pre-job simulation tools are available.
“We have noticed that users of our site or application have achieved energy savings of 15% in one year. This is double the average of the French”, welcomes Xavier Coudert, co-founder of ‘Hello Watt, of Tech&Co .
With this integration into Echo Show devices, Amazon and Hello Watt offer each other support. The first to enrich its information offer on its devices and within its connected home project. The second to have visibility for your energy consumption assistance service.
