As part of Data Protection Day, UFC-Que Choisir is launching a mobilization campaign #IAmNotData which offers a tool innovative and free (1) which allows each Internet user to know concretely what personal data is collected by the platforms he uses, but also and above all to exercise his rights of rectification, cancellation and oblivion… The objective is clearly that they are to resume the control.
They made us appointments
What personal data do Facebook, Netflix, Instagram, UBER, Tinder and many others have? What robot portrait do they make you? If consumers are aware of the data collection to which they are subjected in their daily lives, they are far from measuring its extent and above all the exploitation that is made of it. It is essential that consumers realize the importance of the data they leave on the Internet and the consequences this can have on their lives, in a context of growing cybercrime.
Through the countryside #IAmNotDatafunded by its own Endowment Fund powered by Donationsthe UFC-Que Choisir therefore intends to raise awareness by revealing which sites hold which information and above all to mobilize Internet users, facilitating their approach to exercising their rights.
For Alain Bazot: “The web giants have made us data, but it’s not inevitable. Today is the time to reverse the trend, to react by regaining control of our personal data. We have rights, let’s exercise them. »
Let’s take back control, let’s mobilize
In force since 2018, the European regulation on the protection of personal data (RGPD), promoted by the UFC-Que Choisir, has made it possible to strengthen consumer rights regarding access to and control of their personal data… But too few exercise them out of ignorance and/or a sense of complexity.
The UFC-Que Choisir therefore intends to play the role of facilitator and calls for mobilization through its campaign and tool. Take back control of your data, go to: www.jenesuispasunedata.fr.
