We tend to think that everything is fine in the engineering schools sector, that we are pushing the doors. The reality is quite different listening to Alain Dovillaire, ambassador of the Anny foundation and Henri Marchetta on the occasion of the delivery to the Parriat high school in Montceau of two scholarships to students in the preparatory class.
His message is even alarming. “We are very vigilant with the reform of the BAC. We find that students no longer choose the science and math options. It is a tragedy for France. When it comes to hydrogen, the electric motor, decarbonisation, brains are needed. It is essential to promote engineering professions, ”she says. And she also encourages girls to take the plunge. There are too few of them.
Obviously, for Ibraguim Jamourzaev and Ludo Durand, “if you have faith, your career is already mapped out” he tells them before giving each of them financial aid of 1,500 euros, renewed each year for five years. “A dung that allows you to climb the social ladder” says Eric Basset, teacher in the preparatory class of the Grandes Ecoles. Two students who, in addition to financial aid, also receive moral support from a sponsor of the Arts et Métiers de Cluny.
Ludo Durand is 20 years old. He comes from an Air Force professional BAC. This is her second year in the Parriat preparatory class. The Savoyard wants to become an aeronautical engineer.
Ibraguim Jamourzaev is Chechen. He arrived in France at the age of 5 and obtained a BAC pro in digital system in Dijon. “I’m thinking of switching to financial engineering and aiming for big schools like Sea Tech or CentraleSupélec.”
No worries therefore for the two scholarship holders of the Marchetta Foundation.
As a reminder, Henri Marchetta, upon the death of his wife, wanted to help deserving students in the industrial sector. “Leaving a professional baccalaureate to integrate the grandes écoles, this CPGE (preparatory class for the grandes écoles), is a social elevator” he specified in June 2021 when he went to the Lycée Parriat, he who spent twenty years in Montceau -les- Mines and on the side of the PPM in Saint-Vallier. He is now he is a company manager (Mecalac backhoe loaders).
