With 30 years of history, Rennes School of Business offers, since its creation, management courses oriented to the world. For the young expatriates of the Lycées Français, it is the promise of a rich and resolutely international human and academic experience.
Marie, former student of the Lycée Français, currently in the 3rd year of Graduated in Management from the Rennes School of Businesshe gives us his testimony.
A top-level postgraduate program with a strong international dimension
After studying at the Lycée Français St Exupéry in Brazzaville, Congo, where she is originally from, Marie chose to continue her higher education in France and join the Rennes School of Business.
“After my high school diploma I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do, but I was very attracted to the trade. I chose to study in Rennes because I have a family there and naturally I chose to enroll in the Bachelor in Management at the Rennes School of Business, a school that I had already had the opportunity to discover during my previous stays in France. I was accepted into my career and was able to benefit from a merit scholarship, an economic aid granted by the school to some students according to criteria of academic excellence. »
The Rennes School of Business belongs to the inner circle of triple-accredited international business schools EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB. Another guarantee of this academic excellence, the institution obtained, in 2022, the most beautiful progression of French management schools in the latest “European Business School” ranking by the Financial Times. In fact, the Rennes school comes in 57th place, with an increase of 31 places compared to 2021.
With 55% students and 95% international teachers, The Rennes School of Business offers a multicultural framework, bringing together no less than 90 different nationalities.
“I didn’t expect the campus to be so international! There are students from all walks of life and all lessons are in English. It was a bit exotic at first, but school made my integration much easier.
Many events have been organized since the beginning of the year (integration weekend, student evenings, group games, etc.). All of this has streamlined interactions and created strong and lasting relationships, despite our cultural differences. »
The Bachelor in Management (BiM) of the Rennes School of Business is a post-baccalaureate program in 3 years, which aims to offer operational training in business management, in an international context. In particular, BiM students can choose from several courses, including the English track, 100% English from the first year.
The first two years are devoted to learning the fundamentals of management. Then, in the 3rd year, students specialize in the field of their choice (marketing, finance, supply chain and the work-study specialization “international & innovative business”…). They can then choose to create a academic exchange from 6 to 12 months in 51 countries to choose from or follow their third year in a work-study programme.
“I chose the study-work path, with a specialization in finance in the 3rd year, because I really like the fact of applying what I learned in class to business.
I started my apprenticeship at BNP Paribas, then I joined, as CSM (Customer Success Manager), a Rennes startup that created an application intended to simplify the administrative processes of doctors. »
The Bachelor in Management (BiM) is currently offered on the Rennes campus. Students can then continue their Masters studies by choosing the Master Grande Ecole (PGE) over 2 years or one of the 15 Masters of Science (MSc)

A single mindset
In addition to this international dimension, the Rennes School of Business is also distinguished by its unique philosophy, one of the strengths according to Marie.
“What I particularly like about the Rennes School of Business is that we are strongly encouraged to think outside the box. In fact, the school’s slogan is Unframed Thinking.
For example, the school strongly supports entrepreneurial projects. In the 1st year, we were led to carry out an A-Z business project by a group of 4-6 students. My group created a trader bar project, it was a great experience! Some classmates even made these projects and started their own business! »
The school aims to train responsible and innovative managers, who contribute to the world of tomorrow by freeing themselves from traditional cadres.
Rennes, a dynamic student city
Second student city in France, Rennes offers young people from all walks of life an unparalleled living environment, in a city on a human scale.
“Rennes is a very lively city, which has many bars, cinemas, international restaurants and even an ice rink where we often meet students… It is a culturally very rich city, endowed with a magnificent architectural heritage. I really enjoy walking there to discover the buildings steeped in history. We are also close to magnificent sites such as Mont-Saint-Michel, the beaches of Saint-Malo… It is a very conducive environment for personal development and international openness. »
The Rennes School of Business will open, at the beginning of September 2024, a brand new student residence, CONSTELLATION, which can accommodate up to 500 students. Located at the foot of the campus, this eco-responsible residence will bring together modern, furnished and equipped apartments, of the T1 type, accompanied by a whole range of services and equipment (coworking room, bike room, fitness room, laundry, etc.) .
Prestigious courses in France and abroad

They particularly benefit from the school’s extensive network which brings together 22,500 pupils worldwide.
“Next year, I would like to continue my studies at Rennes School of Business and join the Master of Science in International Finance, which is the 23rd best master’s degree in finance in the world according to the Financial Times 2022 ranking.
I would also like to continue the work-study program and work in accounting firms and accountants. I am therefore evaluating an international career, in Canada in particular, where some of my relatives live. »
At the Rennes School of Business, 62% of students are hired before they finish their studies e 95% of graduates find work within 6 months who follow the end of their studies.
