Séché Environnement acquires Veolia’s business in industrial water treatment services in France. The assets acquired include a portfolio of contracts stipulated mainly with builders. The contracts include all activities of the industrial water cycle (in particular effluent treatment, process water supply, facility management – including waste management – and maintenance operations), allowing producers to be offered value-added services on the territory of the delegated management of the water cycle.
STMicroelectronics/Soitec
French semiconductor specialists STMicroelectronics and Soitec have announced the next step in their cooperation on silicon carbide (SiC) substrates with the first qualification of Soitec’s SiC substrate manufacturing technology. The objective of this cooperation, which covers the next 18 months, is for ST to adopt Soitec’s SmartSiC technology for its future production of 200mm substrates for product and module manufacturing, with volume production expected in the mid term.
Thales
Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), and the European Space Agency (ESA) have signed a letter of intent to collaborate with the aim of supporting the creation of future disruptive space solutions in the field of earth observation. Thales Alenia Space will collaborate with ESA’s Φ-lab to explore innovative technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their applications for the benefit of use cases of significant interest for both parties.
Eutelsat Communications has chosen Thales Alenia Space to build a new generation satellite characterized by its great flexibility and innovative software-defined satellite technology (SDS). The Flexsat (for ‘Flexible satellite’) will be based on the innovative Space Inspire product line developed by Thales Alenia Space, and will be able to be reconfigured and adjusted in orbit in a completely transparent way to offer customers the best level of service guaranteeing the at the same time optimal use of the capabilities available on board the satellite.
TotalEnergie
TotalEnergies is implementing its energy transition strategy in Kazakhstan with, on the one hand, the sale of its subsidiary Total E&P Dunga GmbH and, on the other hand, the gigantic Mirny wind project, which received support from the French and Kazakh authorities in the occasion of the visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym Jomart Tokaïev, to France. On November 28, 2022, TotalEnergies signed an agreement for the sale of its subsidiary Total E&P Dunga GmbH to the Kazakh company Oriental Sunrise Corp Ltd, for an amount of USD 330 million.
Vallourec
Vallourec won a third major order under its long-term deal signed last year with ExxonMobil Guyana. Under this contract, Vallourec will supply linepipes for ExxonMobil Guyana’s deepwater Uaru project. The Uaru project is located in the Stabroek block, a strategic basin of 26,800 km2 off the Guyana continental shelf, where several significant discoveries have been made since 2015.
Valneva
Pfizer and Valneva announced data on antibody persistence in children and adults six months after vaccination with three doses (at months 0, 2 and 6) or two doses (at months 0 and 6) of their Lyme disease vaccine candidate. VLA15. “These data are the first obtained on antibody persistence in pediatric populations for this vaccine candidate,” the two groups explain.
Veolia
Veolia announces the completion of the sale of assets as part of the antitrust remedies agreed with the European Commission on competition matters in the context of the merger between Veolia and Suez. The amount of the sale of the assets sold amounts to approximately 920 million euros of enterprise value and will contribute to the reduction of debt and will support the development of the group.
Vivendi
The European Commission is launching an in-depth investigation into Vivendi’s proposed takeover of Lagardère. Brussels fears that the proposed acquisition will reduce competition in a number of markets along the book value chain in the French-speaking countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) and in a segment of book publishing.
