“SME Business Training & Coaching Loop”, the GIZ program to support Tunisian SMEs
An information meeting on the “SME Business Training & Coaching Loop” program was organized on Friday 20 January 2023 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sfax in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy with the support of the Ministry German international cooperation agency GIZ.
This program aims to strengthen the managerial skills of SMEs to improve their profitability and productivity through diagnostic-training actions and individual coaching as needed.
In a statement released to the press today, GIZ technical expert Bochra Ben Moussa indicated that it is a project initiated by GIZ and titled “Qualitative growth for employment”. It is carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU).
The expert specified that the project complies with the industrial strategy for 2035 of the Ministry of Industry. It aims to support Tunisian industry and businesses, especially SMEs, in particular following the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the war in Ukraine and its repercussions. It aims to improve the competitiveness of companies and their resilience, so that they can deal with the internal and external difficulties and challenges they face.
The project covers four areas: framework conditions (reforms), innovation (particularly green businesses), export development and resilience, he noted.
It is aimed at industrial companies and services related to industry, with at least two years of activity, registered in the National Register of Companies (RNE) and which meet the selection criteria previously set, in particular financial stability and a workforce between 10 and 199 employees. For his part, the entrepreneur must be receptive to the training and advice provided.
It should be noted that the GIZ will offer accepted companies technical support through training and coaching cycles, after a diagnosis, to ultimately implement a long-term vision. The course will extend for six months.
