Strictly speaking, we cannot increase the power for Stellantis. According to data provided by ACEA, the group led by Carlos Tavares registered 2,052,543 new cars in Europe in 2022, recording a decrease of 14.1% compared to 2021 (2.37 million units). The European car market decreased by 4.1% to 11.28 million units*. Born two years ago from the merger of PSA and FCA, the group recorded a market share of 18.2% last year, compared to 20.2% in 2021. Stellantis thus saw its penetration decrease by 2 points in one year. No other manufacturer has lost as much in 2022 on the European car market.
ACEA data reveals that general (mainstream) brands took a big hit last year, mostly posting double-digit declines. Peugeot (5.5% share) lost 0.7 points of market share, while Fiat (3.5%) and Citroën (3.3%) lost 0.5 points. DS premium brands (+17.1%) e Alfa Romeo (+23.7%), on the other hand recorded volumes on the rise in 2022.

The manufacturer claims the top position in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal in the PC + LCV markets. Finally, Stellantis gains a 15.7% share in 2022 (+1.7 points) in the low-emission vehicle market, with notably a leading position in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
