Writing a business plan, a challenge for the companies that the start-up Supernova, incubated at Bic Innov’Up, business incubator managed by CCI Gard , intends to accompany. In fact, France has entered an entrepreneurial zone, with an increase of 23% between 2018 and 2020 of the number of business creations Supernova recalls in a press release. Although it is impossible to avoid it, the possibilities of writing the business plan are limited. It is necessary to use accounting firms or to resort to online solutions.
Supernova’s idea is therefore to guide the entrepreneur and help him in the realization of his business plan. “We created a simple and smart application to validate his assumptions in minutes. The business plan is an essential step to create, detect and develop your business. But his writing is an obstacle course for many leaders, feared because it is complex, time-consuming and often expensive, ”explains Nicolas Cabanel, co-founder.
Through Supernova, the entrepreneur is asked simple questions: ‘What do you sell?’, ‘What do you need? The application then pre-populates the fields for him based on his business sector. The algorithm calculates the sales targets and automatically generates the accounting records (income statement, balance sheet, break-even point, etc.). The business plan can then be produced and shared with the banker or partners.
Two complementary profiles
The application is already used by entrepreneurs and the startup is a partner of entrepreneurship support structures such as BGE (40 branches in France and 150,000 business plans per year) and CMA Occitanie (13 branches).
Launched in June 2020, Supernova brings together two complementary profiles: Nicolas Cabanel, engineer by training, with 15 years of experience as vice president and founder of a temporary employment company, and Damien Ferracci, graduate in commerce, with 15 years of experience as administrative director and finance company of an agri-food group in France and Benelux. The founders themselves have been driven to carry out many business plans throughout their careers. Nicolas Cabanel and Damien Ferracci applied Supernova to their entrepreneurial adventures. Supernova says 6,000 business plans have been completed in the past 12 months, covering 20 countries.
