The Crypto Tour was held on Saturday 22 October in Marseille, an event for educational and discussion purposes on the themes of the Web3 in general and of Bitcoin and the metaverse in particular. It was organized in La Coque, the digital events center in Marseille and by Kryptosphere, the student association specializing in Blockchain present through its various universities throughout France.
If the association Cryptosphere, the largest student DAO in Europe, was created in 2017 in Marseille, its headquarters are currently in Paris. The idea of organizing the first edition of the Crypto-Tour outside the capital was to look for entrepreneurs directly in their regions.
While present at the Surfin Bitcoin in Biarritz, Marvin Scaringella, the President of Kryptosphere Marseille, noticed the enthusiasm of the actors of the crypto universe for an appointment outside the capital, which is also in the sun. The opportunity to launch the first edition of the Crypto-Tour in Marseille then appeared obvious.
The objectives of the Crypto-Tour
One of the goals was to bring together at least 150 people interested in the cryptocurrency universe. Objective achieved since over 200 people were present at the event sponsored by the blockchain Celo. Among them were blockchain professionals: entrepreneurs, lawyers, developers, philosophers, recruiting specialists, consulting firms, but also students and curious people who wanted to know more about the world of blockchain.
A local and national blockchain network
The day, in collaboration with Medinsoft and Blockchain Innov, was an opportunity for students from all sectors to seek internships with the companies present. Some lucky ones found the contacts they needed. The venue has also lent itself to meetings within the blockchain industry. The fabric Web3 being rather dense local in the south, networking was in full swing.
As a web event 3 through and through, the rumors were tickets NFT operated by the French blockchain ticketing platform Billy. In some NFT tickets there were also hidden surprises to be discovered on site by the winners.
Conferences of blockchain experts
The Crypto-Tour has hosted numerous conferences on the theme of Bitcoin in the morning and from the Metaverse in the afternoon. Worthy of note is the speech by Charles Neyvoz of the famous accounting firm KPMG on what is beginning to be called “crypto coexistence” (between DeFi and traditional finance). Blockchain expert consultant Emilien Ercolani co-presented the panel discussion on the different uses of the metaverse.
It’s always nice to hear experts demystify the cryptocurrency energy consumption narrative, as Start Mining did with Bitcoin during their speeches on blockchain and ecology.
We were also able to hear the lawyer Margaux Frisque talk to us about the regulations relating to digital resources, in particular the MiCA law.
A success that portends a new edition
The content intended for both ecosystem gamers and laymen has captured the attention of the public. The success of this first edition has already convinced the Kryptosphere board to renew the experience. The president of Krytposphere of the Kedge Business School Marseille already announces a second edition of the Crypto-Tour, in Marseille but also in some of the other 27 locations of the student association, such as Paris or Lyon.
“I am very proud and happy to have been able to organize the first edition of the Crypto-Tour together with my team and my president Marvin, our collaboration with Celo, Medinsoft and Blockchain Innov. We will be back next year for an even bigger event, ”said Luc Colombo, vice president of Kryptosphere Marseille and member of the COBFI Investment Division of Kedge Marseille.
