What data do companies have? How do they exploit them and in what forms? How to erase your data, make you forget search engines and limit the exploitation of your information?
“You can exercise various rights against the organizations that use your data, such as the right to access, cancel or oppose their use”, recalls the association, which aims to support Internet users with an accessible and didactic procedure.
For example, how to recover personal data on Facebook, this is the link to go to. The UFC explains the process on each platform for accessing the data recovery request link.
Too few Internet users exercise their rights
In a second phase and for those interested, the association provides a form dedicated to the analysis of the practice and a form “Exercise your rights” which will accompany you in your requests.
As a reminder, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) allows users to ask any company to provide or delete the collected data. But too few Internet users exercise their rights through ignorance and/or a sense of complexity, believes UFC-Que Choisir.
